Five Reasons Gambling Is Wrong

Code: A157

  1. Because it denies the reality of God’s sovereignty (by affirming the existence of luck or chance)
  2. Because it is built on irresponsible stewardship (tempting people to throw away their money)
  3. Because it erodes a biblical work ethic (by demeaning and displacing hard work as the proper means for one’s livelihood)
  4. Because it is driven by the sin of covetousness (tempting people to give in to their greed)
  5. Because it is built on the exploitation of others (often taking advantage of poor people who think they can gain instant wealth)

Assign Topics

As you may have noticed, we have a HUGE number of transcripts that we’d like to organize under topic headings (which will significantly improve your search experience). So, if you’re interested in lending a hand, we could really use your help! Here’s how it works:

Make sure you’re logged in to assign a topic to a sermon. Once you assign a topic, others will have an opportunity to vote on your topic recommendation. That’ll help us as we vet the topic headings that are ultimately assigned. Many thanks (ahead of time) for your help!
