Sin and the Work of the Spirit
Monday, June 30, 2014

There is colossal confusion about what it means to be a Christian. Through mass communication the culture receives conflicting messages about what defines authentic Christianity. Cults, charismatic speakers, and criminally convicted church leaders only muddle the confusion on a grand scale.

Sin and the Work of Christ
Thursday, June 26, 2014

What did Jesus set out to accomplish? Did His death and resurrection have any practical effect for this life, or was it all focused on eternity? Consider this: the holy Son of God set aside His glory, humbled Himself by taking the form of a man, lived a righteous life, and willingly surrendered Himself as a perfect sacrifice for the sins of others. Was all intended to merely to forgive sin without removing it?

Lawless Christians?
Tuesday, June 24, 2014

Everyone sins, and everyone knows it. While it is true that fallen human nature minimizes or redefines sin, everyone knows they don’t meet the standard of perfection. Whether they call them “sins” or “mistakes,” everyone will admit to having lied, lusted, or lashed out in anger at some point in their lives—if not regularly.

Charismatic Teaching Is Breeding Spiritual Havoc

Conrad Mbewe was one of the keynote speakers at last year’s Strange Fire conference. He delivered two powerful messages about the corruption in African charismatic churches. The disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear reactor power plant released four hundred times the amount of radioactive material released in the bombing of Hiroshima. Experts estimate that as much as 60 percent of the fallout from the Chernobyl disaster landed in the neighboring nation of Belarus.

Is Scripture Clear About Abortion?
Friday, June 06, 2014

Over the last few days, I’ve noticed several articles concerning a letter circulated by the nation’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood. The letter, written by members of Planned Parenthood’s Clergy Advocacy Board—representatives of various incongruent streams of faith—claims that abortion isn’t mentioned in Scripture, and therefore shouldn’t be subject to any faith-based prohibitions.

John MacArthur on Christians, Business, and Gay Marriage
Thursday, June 05, 2014

The homosexual agenda has no tolerance for disagreement. You’ve likely read stories about Christian wedding vendors being protested, sued, and even run out of business for refusing to participate in homosexual marriage ceremonies. Even some churches and pastors have come under fire for simply holding fast to their biblical beliefs and refusing to host or officiate a gay marriage.

John MacArthur on How to Respond to a Homosexual Child
Tuesday, June 03, 2014

The homosexual movement presents a serious test for the church today. Will congregations hold fast to the unchanging truth of Scripture and its condemnation of all sexual sin? Or will churches cave to the pressure of society, compromise the truth, and hobble their testimonies? While the right course would seem obvious, a troubling number of churches today are turning away from God’s Word to accommodate the world.
