Any trial can be a joyous experience for a Christian if his perspective is right. In fact, they are God-allowed opportunites to depend on God and grow in wisdom.

In James 1:2-12, James discusses the reason for trials, the appropriate responses to trials, and the result of trials. Then in James 5 we read, "Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray...Is anyone among you sick?...Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you might be healed" (vv. 3-16).
