We know that these days of pandemic have many of you spending more time at home, and we want to help you fill the unexpected hours with Bible teaching and resources that are both edifying and encouraging. As the quarantines continue in the weeks ahead, watch this space for suggestions about specific sermons and other resources we know will be a help to you and your family in these uncertain times.
But to begin with today, we want to be sure you know about the various avenues available to the verse-by-verse teaching we provide. Faced with an archive of thousands of John MacArthur’s sermons, blog posts, articles, and other resources, it can be hard to know where to begin when you arrive at the Grace to You website or app. So what follows are some suggestions for how to get the most out of our digital platforms.
Broadcasts
The Grace to You broadcast airs daily on radio stations around the world. But if you miss it on your local outlet, you can hear it here at the website, via the Grace to You app, or by subscribing to the podcast.
Besides the daily broadcast, Grace to You also produces a weekly television program. You can stream the latest episodes here or through our app.
Finally, if you want to listen to sound Bible teaching but don’t know where to begin, just switch on Grace Stream. This 24/7 feed continuously plays Pastor John’s exposition through the New Testament, from Matthew to Revelation. So no matter when you tune in, you’ll find trustworthy verse-by-verse teaching that’s applicable to your life.
Smart Transcripts
Our Smart Transcripts feature is another way you can get more out of the sermon library. Available on select transcripts of John’s verse-by-verse New Testament exposition, this feature highlights phrases in the transcript in time with the audio. So Smart Transcripts helps you read along while listening to the sermon. Also, use this feature to start the audio at any point in the transcript—just click where you want the audio to begin playing.
Though Smart Transcripts is not yet available for every sermon in the archive, you’ll know it is activated on the transcript you’re viewing if you see in its bottom left corner the icon of a page with its corner folded down—as in the above image.
Listen to a Sermon Series
Over the coming weeks, we will suggest specific sermon series we think you’ll find especially beneficial. That’s because browsing John's teaching by series is a great way to discover new audio content.
Our sermon library organizes series both topically and by book of the Bible. So just find a topic that interests you and start listening there, or consider taking your family through a verse-by-verse exposition of a book of the New Testament. You’d be surprised how much material you can get through just by listening to a little bit each day. How about starting with the book of John?
Daily Devotionals
Another great feature we offer is four free daily devotionals. You can view them by going to our devotionals page or by clicking the “Devotionals” button in your app. The content updates every morning, so you will always see the current day’s entry.
You can also sign up to have any of the devotionals delivered straight to your email each morning.
Just choose which devotional you want and click the “Email Feed” button to subscribe. You can unsubscribe anytime.
Grace to You on YouTube
Finally, subscribe to Grace to You’s YouTube channel, featuring over a thousand videos of sermons, conferences, and more from John MacArthur. If you haven’t had a chance to watch the sessions from our recent Truth Matters conference, consider starting there.
We trust those simple suggestions will prove profitable for you and your family as you look for edifying ways to fill the days ahead. As the apostle Paul wrote in Philippians 4:8, “Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.”
